HT - Smart, Proven Performance

The HT Series is the best-selling toggle Injection Molding machine in the U.S. It's available from 85 to 650 tons. And they have made it more flexible with an option for electric screw drive, variable speed pump drive or as the international, CE-certified HTG Series.

Clamp Unit

The clamp meets several molder requirements - fast opening and closing strokes to minimize cycle time, an ejector system to run the most challenging molds, and hardened tie bars and chrome-plated toggle pins to provide years of durable support. Other design elements include:

• Models available in 85, 120, 170, 230, 300, 400, 500 and 650 U.S. tons (756 kN to 5783 kN)

• Rugged double shear toggle linkage design that minimizes pin deflection and bushing wear

• Motorized single-point die-height adjustment with ring gear to achieve platen parallelism and consistent tonnage

• Large extended platen shoes that support large molds without tipping the platen

• Ejector system with center ejection, positive ejector stops, eject forward hold, eject on the fly and multiple ejector sequences

• Central eight-point lubrication to simplify maintenance on tie bars and support shoes

• Low lubrication bushings to minimize the need for lubrication and potential part contamination

Injection Unit

The HT's standard injection unit provides flexible, reliable and precise delivery of material to the mold using:

• Rotating ram injection unit for a choice of standard or high-pressure injection

• Energy-efficient, quiet, hydraulic gear or radial piston-type screw drive motor (except for the HTE Series)

• Durable ion-nitrided screw with 20/1 L/D and a four-piece non-return valve and barrel

• Pivoting injection unit for easy screw and barrel changes

• Patented State Temperature Control of four zones

• Shot sizes ranging from 3 ounces to 125 ounces (85 to 3544 grams)

It's the hydraulic muscle behind the HT Series that delivers the strong, repeatable performance the industry has come to respect. Combined with the Pathfinder family of controls, there is no match for its power, speed and consistency. We do it with:

• Variable-volume piston pump for energy efficiency by matching pump output to selected speed (the option for electric variable-speed pump drive motor is paired with fixed-volume vane pump)

• Proportional direction control valves for repeatable shot control and clamp control

• Proportional pressure control valves for injection and system pressure control

• On-board electronics on proportional valves that eliminate calibration

• Cartridge hydraulics for fast response and minimal pressure drops

• Closed-loop oil temperature control

• Selectable oil preheat sequence and high oil temperature, low oil level alarms

Controls

The HT Series family is available with a selection of controls based on your needs. These include the Pathfinder 3000, a closed-loop control; and the Pathfinder 5000, which adds communications and SPC capability. The Pathfinder 3000 and 5000 controls feature the Scout guided setup and Expert troubleshooting programs. Also available in international markets is the full-featured Demag NC4 control.
